Hamilton’s New Music Night

THB and The Casbah are proud to announce a new partnership to bring Hamilton its very own monthly New Music Night!

Starting March 18th fresh Hamilton tunes and $5.50 Blue Collar Pale Ale pints will be flowing at the Casbah!  New and up and coming bands from Hamilton and the surrounding area will be featured monthly with the next two dates set for April 15th and May 13th.  The first line up is:

The Mackinaws

The Mercy Beat

PS Because

The Ollivanders

Three Pound Universe

And here’s the exciting part for local talent: if you are a new band or solo act you have a chance to open up with three songs in front of a packed house!  Submit a demo track to and a panel of Raconteurs-About-Town will select the opening act.  Winning acts will be notified by email five days prior to the event.

Pop Up: Speakeasy to feature THB!

THB is proud to announce that it has been tapped by Pop Up Hamilton for their upcoming event – Speakeasy!  How fitting that a beer that I orignally homebrewed in my basement in Corktown will be served at a Prohibition Era event!  I’ve had some wispers in my ear that there may be some tickets left for Thursday the 12th…just between you and me though..

The First Sixteen

THB would like to announce it’s sixteenth tap handle!  Radius at the corner of James & Augusta is known to many but for those who have not yet darkened it’s door, it’s a fantastic resto bar in the heart of downtown with a focus on local, an emphasis on quality, and an expectation of greatness.  We are very proud to be pouring Blue Collar on tap with the likes of them.

Sixteen taps and momentum is growing… Thank you so much to the Hamilton beer drinker for getting this venture off to a flying start!  I’ve said it before but it bears saying again, if you weren’t ordering it, the bars wouldn’t either.  I would also like to take this spot to thank the first sixteen locations for the phenomenal support.  Thank you for working with me on modest promotions, digging into your own bottom line and pouring samples for your customers, and for above all… taking the risk on an unknown commodity vs. the tried and true.  Stay tuned for some really cool event & promo announcements in the very near future, all of which are made possible by the fantastic people where our taps are pouring!  Momentum is growing.

The craft beer scene in Hamilton is definitely on a vertical path.  CBC Hamilton recently ran a piece detailing the three main efforts to grow the craft footprint. One big time move by two established entities in the market and two different plucky upstarts looking to supplant their day jobs.  This was followed up by a piece on CHCH the following day…. buy hey CHCH where’s the love for the two plucky upstarts!?!  No worries.  (Sorry couldn’t find a link to the video)

The future is bright.  With every new order or account THB is getting that much closer to opening it’s own brick and mortar brewery in Hamilton.  If you are the investor type and have the vision for what this beauty of a town is becoming please email me at and lets talk.

Thank you all so much for buying kegs and especially to those who have gotten out and enjoyed a pint or two!

Catching UP..

And were off!

One month in..thirteen taps.. five family Christmas parties.. New Years.. one super sick four year old.. lots of reorders.. one amazing wife.. and oh ya.. one new baby!!Jeremy & Baby Sam

Baby Sam was born December 15th, eleven days over due to a much relieved mother, Sara!  Along with mom, Jeremy and I are very grateful to welcome baby Sam into our family.  Much fun will be had.

On to beer!

What an exciting month!  After a fantastic launch party at the Casbah in late November it has been go go go.  It was tough to get out on sales calls at times with the holidays and the new baby(!) but that hasn’t stopped THB’s momentum.

Taps have been popping up all around Downtown, Augusta, Locke and now Dundas. Every week I get out to different areas so don’t fret, Blue Collar is coming to a local near you soon.  There are some awesome people out there that can see a good thing coming and I am so grateful for their support of THB and Blue Collar Pale Ale, go check them out, bring friends.

By far Twitter is the best way to stay in touch with THB.  I’m always tweeting out new bars, new keg drops and awesome events where ever we are on tap.  Check out @hamiltonbrewery – stay beer informed.

Thanks for a great start Hamilton, if you weren’t buying they wouldn’t be reordering!

What a night!

Ted's shot of a full pint

The launch of THB’s Blue Collar Pale Ale was an awesome night!

Warren pouring a pint at the Casbah!

I must start off with a big thanks to Todd Pyper, Nathan Small, and The Marla’s!  Everyone really kicked out the jams for a great night of rock!  Thanks also to all who came out to get this venture off to a shinning start!  It was so great to hear all of your reactions to tasting Blue Collar for the first time.  Especially because you all loved it!

Now it’s off to the races, right now you can get a pint of Blue Collar Pale Ale at The Tavern on George and of course the Casbah.  This list is about to expand dramatically in the next several days and weeks.  As CHCH’s coverage of our event and the new, fantastic craft beer bar, The Brux House shows the craft beer scene here in Hamilton is about to blow up.  I am so excited to be along for the ride as Hamilton continues to rebuild itself.  I say rebuild rather than reevision or reimagine because that is exactly what is happening here.  Hamilton is a city of builders and when faced with a challenge you must improvise, adapt, and overcome.  No one is going to do it for you. The development of this new culture forward community is exciting to raise a family in and exciting to now be in business in.

Ted's shot of a full pintI know it is not ideal to brew our beer in another city.  The way I see it, sometimes you have to travel away in order to come home.  We tried, we tried really hard for three years to raise the money to build a brick and mortar, job producing, brewery here in Hamilton proper.  Just couldn’t meet the fundraising target.  So we improvised, adapted, and overcame this obstacle by contracting the fantastic crew at Railway City Brewing and Muthu Sakthivel to help us crack into the Hamilton market.  The ultimate goal is to grow this brand and secure the finances to build that brick and mortar craft brewery.  To do our part and be a building block amongst many in this great community.

I look forward to hopefully many years of satisfying beer drinkers of all kinds in this great city.

Today’s the day!

Well… It’s 3:30 am and I’m just now wrapping up for the night.  Off to work the day job until at 8 pm, THB becomes a going concern!  I am so excited to be undertaking this challenge and so proud and thankful to all those who have dedicated and sacrificed of themselves in order to chase this dream.  Thank you.

TONIGHT!!  8pm – The Casbah – Blue Collar Pale Ale Launch Party!!

Featuring Todd Pyper, Nathan Small and headlining – The Marla’s! Check out to hear their stuff!

This is gonna be some ride!
