THB is proud to announce that it has been tapped by Pop Up Hamilton for their upcoming event – Speakeasy! How fitting that a beer that I orignally homebrewed in my basement in Corktown will be served at a Prohibition Era event! I’ve had some wispers in my ear that there may be some tickets left for Thursday the 12th…just between you and me though..

THB would like to announce it’s sixteenth tap handle! Radius at the corner of James & Augusta is known to many but for those who have not yet darkened it’s door, it’s a fantastic resto bar in the heart of downtown with a focus on local, an emphasis on quality, and an expectation of greatness. We are very proud to be pouring Blue Collar on tap with the likes of them.
Sixteen taps and momentum is growing… Thank you so much to the Hamilton beer drinker for getting this venture off to a flying start! I’ve said it before but it bears saying again, if you weren’t ordering it, the bars wouldn’t either. I would also like to take this spot to thank the first sixteen locations for the phenomenal support. Thank you for working with me on modest promotions, digging into your own bottom line and pouring samples for your customers, and for above all… taking the risk on an unknown commodity vs. the tried and true. Stay tuned for some really cool event & promo announcements in the very near future, all of which are made possible by the fantastic people where our taps are pouring! Momentum is growing.
The craft beer scene in Hamilton is definitely on a vertical path. CBC Hamilton recently ran a piece detailing the three main efforts to grow the craft footprint. One big time move by two established entities in the market and two different plucky upstarts looking to supplant their day jobs. This was followed up by a piece on CHCH the following day…. buy hey CHCH where’s the love for the two plucky upstarts!?! No worries. (Sorry couldn’t find a link to the video)
The future is bright. With every new order or account THB is getting that much closer to opening it’s own brick and mortar brewery in Hamilton. If you are the investor type and have the vision for what this beauty of a town is becoming please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and lets talk.
Thank you all so much for buying kegs and especially to those who have gotten out and enjoyed a pint or two!

The launch of THB’s Blue Collar Pale Ale was an awesome night!
I must start off with a big thanks to Todd Pyper, Nathan Small, and The Marla’s! Everyone really kicked out the jams for a great night of rock! Thanks also to all who came out to get this venture off to a shinning start! It was so great to hear all of your reactions to tasting Blue Collar for the first time. Especially because you all loved it!
Now it’s off to the races, right now you can get a pint of Blue Collar Pale Ale at The Tavern on George and of course the Casbah. This list is about to expand dramatically in the next several days and weeks. As CHCH’s coverage of our event and the new, fantastic craft beer bar, The Brux House shows the craft beer scene here in Hamilton is about to blow up. I am so excited to be along for the ride as Hamilton continues to rebuild itself. I say rebuild rather than reevision or reimagine because that is exactly what is happening here. Hamilton is a city of builders and when faced with a challenge you must improvise, adapt, and overcome. No one is going to do it for you. The development of this new culture forward community is exciting to raise a family in and exciting to now be in business in.
I know it is not ideal to brew our beer in another city. The way I see it, sometimes you have to travel away in order to come home. We tried, we tried really hard for three years to raise the money to build a brick and mortar, job producing, brewery here in Hamilton proper. Just couldn’t meet the fundraising target. So we improvised, adapted, and overcame this obstacle by contracting the fantastic crew at Railway City Brewing and Muthu Sakthivel to help us crack into the Hamilton market. The ultimate goal is to grow this brand and secure the finances to build that brick and mortar craft brewery. To do our part and be a building block amongst many in this great community.
I look forward to hopefully many years of satisfying beer drinkers of all kinds in this great city.

Thanks for the great leads Hamilton! THB’s general call out for Hamilton based wood and/or metal workers lead us to a great young wood worker named Tyson out in the East end, he’s hard at work right now banging out 100 of these gorgeous cherry wood handles. The metal logo is being crafted by a specialized metal fabricator just outside of Hamilton in Grimsby…. We know, it’s not Hamilton but THB’s founder grew up in Grimsby so we’re gonna run with it. Next comes some stain & paint….

Are you a local Hamilton wood worker? How about a passion for metal work? Perhaps you are a big shop with CNC capacity or a small artisan working out of his/her studio.
THB is seeking local suppliers who can produce 100 of both or either the wooden and metal portions of this handle. The final assembly and/or painting can be done by us on our end to keep the cost down if necessary.
A note on the top metal logo. The center need not be cut away, it can be metal with raised letters if need be. If this opportunity sounds like something you can knock out of the park then please email email@example.com and lets chat.

Hey Hamilton… we are so close. It has been a very long and winding path that has truly forced me to live a saying that we used to use all the time in the infantry (Hamilton’s own, Riley’s!)…. Improvise, adapt & overcome! One learns so much as they progress in working toward a dream. Plans change, expectations evolve, goals refine. Eventually through perseverance a dream starts to gain traction, then momentum truly begins.
As of right now THB is closer than ever to becoming a reality. Through the evolution of the planning and funding process I have been forced to refocus and become a contract brewer. This decision is in hopes of building THB the brand up to one were, in the not so distant future, THB can break ground on it’s very own brick and mortar brewery here in Hamilton. The fact of the matter is, it takes a ton of cash to do that and we just weren’t getting there. Not without a product in the market place and some sales history. This decision means that THB needed to take it’s brewing to another Southern Ontario brewery. Don’t worry, these guys are great and the reciepe remains our own. With the brewing leaving the city it became even more important that everything else be done here in the Hamilton. THB’s new branding, our glasses, tap handles, apparel, coasters, and a host of other products and services are all Hamilton made and/or provided.
Our licenses are pending, our production test batch is about ready to be brewed. If all goes according to plan we are on track for a mid to late November launch. Blue Collar Pale Ale will be availible ontap to begin in bar’s and restaurants all over the city. If you don’t see it on tap let your bar tender or waitress know about us. I hope to progress this into cans and also to launch a second brand in the spring but to do so THB will need your help! Tell your friends, tell your family…..tell strangers at the bar!
